2012 SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO DAVIS STUDENT Melecio has maintained an outstanding academic record throughout his high school career, and he also is very involved in extra-curricular activities and volunteer work. One of his outstanding activities was serving as a volunteer with Amigos de las Americas during the summer of 2011 in Honduras. In his essay he states, “I know that if I can live and work with people I’ve never met before, in a country I’ve never been to, in a language that’s not my first, for seven weeks, I can achieve my dreams and goals in life.” Each year the Cache Creek Conservancy offers a scholarship of up to $1,000 to a Yolo County high school student who is pursuing an education in an environmental/natural resource science related field at a 2 or 4 year college or university. We are very please to award this year’s scholarship to Melecio and wish him the best in the future.
